Semester 2 gogogogogogo

Ok so here we go with Semester 2...

In my last project I feel like I maybe tried to take on too much considering I've never designed a game before. Taking this into account I think I may stick to 2D for my next project.

I want to look at a game that can only be played on a touchscreen device (probably an iPad seen as I have one of those!) so would therefore have to use the ios touch gestures to influence my game mechanics.

Current ios gestures.

List of possible controls/mechanics:

* portrait/landscape orientation change
* fingerprint recognition (on later iPad models)
* swiping
* zooming
* "pinching"
* different actions dictated by number of fingers used
* camera (not sure about this one...potentially dodgy)
* links to music/images on device (with player permissions...also potentially dodgy)
* screenshot/video capture (can be done on PS4 currently though?)
* use of iPhone to control
* more than one iPad, dual screens
* press & hold finger for stronger actions
* dragging objects with finger

The one I think that is only usable on only touchscreen (everything else can be done on console/PC with an external controller) is the use of the orientation change. Ideally I think I would want to go down the puzzle game route, which is unusual for me as I usually steer relatively clear of these, I guess that's a good challenge though?
